"Yes, child?"

She nodded, “Do you think there will be any children left for me after this great battle? What if they’re all gone?” she looked anxious.

"Perhaps I will spare a babe for you," Loki mused, resuming his stroking of her hair, "Or perhaps, when the universe is ours, I will make a child for you out of earth and ash and blood and starlight.”

She looked up at him, “You can do that?” she whispered.

She nodded, “I would not want to raise a child in such bloodshed… besides… I shall be too occupied myself,” she sighed, “so many dead…”

"So many more charges for you to guide and love," Loki murmured. "A necessity of war, I’m afraid. But no place for a baby, I agree."

She nodded, “Do you think there will be any children left for me after this great battle? What if they’re all gone?” she looked anxious.

She nodded, “Yes, I know I do, if no one will love me as a lover, then I want to be a mother,” she said firmly.

"Very well, then," Loki whispered, "if your mind is made up, I will not stop you. But wait, daughter, wait until after my war. you will be a mother, once the world is remade."

She nodded, “I would not want to raise a child in such bloodshed… besides… I shall be too occupied myself,” she sighed, “so many dead…”

"You mean it? Oh father," she was delighted, "a little baby would be so much fun… I could care for it and watch it grow up… oh father," she was in her own little world, "I could be a mother… and they would love me for sure, just like I love you father, and you love me… don’t you think father?"

"Of course, my girl," he said, before pausing his caresses of her hair, "But Hela, are you certain you wish for that pain? You will have a boy to cherish and he will love you, as a son should, but he will grow up too quickly and leave you behind. He will change and grow and you will not. It is a parent’s curse. Are you willing to endure that, my sweet?"

She nodded, “Yes, I know I do, if no one will love me as a lover, then I want to be a mother,” she said firmly.

"Yes, child?"

She knew none of this, choosing to treat her father implicitly, why should she not? he had been right before on some many other things.

She looked up at him and sighed, “Father… do you think I would make a good mother? I… I know no one will love me… but… what if I… adopted… do you think I could care for a child?”

"You care for your dead, do you not?" Loki said, "You are akin to a mother to them. You certainly could serve as a mother, daughter. But not until after my war. After we remake this world, then you shall have all the children you wish and they will love and adore you."

"You mean it? Oh father," she was delighted, "a little baby would be so much fun… I could care for it and watch it grow up… oh father," she was in her own little world, "I could be a mother… and they would love me for sure, just like I love you father, and you love me… don’t you think father?"

she nodded, feeling pride that she was his daughter, “thank you father…” She closed her eyes, enjoying being here with him, just them relaxing.

He kissed her head and exhaled, slowly finding himself relaxing the longer his daughter stayed curled at his side.

In truth, he could promised her nothing of what was to come after Ragnarok. There were no assurances once his war was raged upon the Realms. He did not know if she would die or if her forces of the dead would be enough. He knew nothing except that nothing and no one would stand in the way of his victory.

She nodded, “Yes father… but do you think I am strong enough as well?” she asked.

"Of course," he murmured, "Any child of mine has been born to survive anything. The seed of Loki ensured come hell or high water, as the Midgardians say. You are strong enough. I promise."

she nodded, feeling pride that she was his daughter, “thank you father…” She closed her eyes, enjoying being here with him, just them relaxing.

She nodded, “But you won’t die,” she smiled, “I won’t die will I father? I mean… cease to exist?” she was already dead… sort of.

"Of course not," Loki smiled down at her. Of course he could guarantee nothing, but he was no stranger to lies, "Nothing will happen to you, my darling. What sort of father would I be if I permitted harm to befall you?"

She nodded, “Yes father… but do you think I am strong enough as well?” she asked.

Thiassi grinned, loving the dress. “Its perfect…you will certainly stand out,” he grinned, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her cheek.

She giggled and kissed his cheek, “I want this one and the first one,” she leaned against him.
